  • What is a medical dispensary?

    A medical dispensary in Washington, D.C. is a legally authorized and licensed establishment where qualified patients with medical cannabis cards can purchase medicinal marijuana products for therapeutic purposes. These dispensaries are regulated by DC’s Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration and are required to adhere to strict guidelines regarding the sale of medical cannabis.

  • How do I get a medical card?

    DC residents may apply for patient registration to be eligible to purchase cannabis from any of DC’s licensed retailers. DC allows for self-attestation, no doctor’s note required! Upon submission of an application, applicants receive a temporary digital registration that allows them to purchase cannabis for up to 30-days while their application is under review. The whole process takes around 5-10min.

  • Can non-residents apply?

    For a temporary patient registration, non-DC residents submit a brief online registration form self-certifying that they will only use purchased medical cannabis for valid medical purposes. Registration, including payment processing and registration issuance, can be completed within 10 minutes. Reciprocity is extended to patients that have a valid patient registration issued by their respective U.S. state or territory’s program.

  • Is Green Theory a licensed facility?

    Green Theory is a licensed medical cannabis retailer located in The Palisades neighborhood of NW Washington, DC. Our license and delivery endorsement were issued by DC’s Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA).

  • How much can I buy?

    Enrolled patients and caregivers may purchase up to eight (8) ounces of cannabis within a 30-day rolling period and possess up to two (2) ounces at any time.

  • What kinds of products can I buy?

    Green Theory offers a range of products including flower, edibles, concentrates, tinctures and topicals to help patients find their desired effect. Our products are all made in DC and are the highest quality options on the market.

  • What payment types are accepted?

    Green Theory currently accepts cash, debit cards, and Dutchie Pay. There is a $3 fee for all debit transactions. We have an ATM on site that has a $3.50 fee. There are no fees associated with Dutchie Pay. You can sign up by clicking here.

  • Can someone else pickup my order for me?

    The order can only be picked by the same person whose medical ID is used for purchase. If you are a designated caregiver to a patient, please shop with your caregiver medical ID.

  • How do I place an order?

    You can shop with us online for express pickup or delivery! You can also visit our retail location at 4828 MacArthur Blvd NW. We operate Mon-Sat from 11am - 8pm and Sun 12pm - 7pm.

  • Will my job know if I get a medical card?

    Medical cannabis card patient records are completely confidential and stored with DC's ABCA, the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration. The only way this information can be accessed is via a court order and is not on any publicly available lists.
